Volvo plans to sell only hybrid and electric vehicles in 2023
June 29 2022,
Volvo has announced that it will no longer sell vehicles that don't feature some kind of electrified powertrain starting in 2023. That means that models like the Volvo XC40 with the T4 or T5 engine, or the current Volvo XC90, will be getting updated powertrains next year.
Volvo will introduce a new B4 engine while the B5 and B6 powertrains that were used on the 2022 XC60 will be featured more broadly across the lineup. These engines provide better fuel economy and improve performance over the outgoing T5 and T6 engines, and they are certainly an improvement for the Volvo 2023 lineup.
Volvo will also simplify the lineups next year, offering CORE, PLUS, and ULTIMATE specification models across the board. New colour options, new wheel designs, and new interior options will be offered as well. Moreover, every 2023 Volvo vehicle will offer an updated Google built-in infotainment system with features such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play app store.
The 2023 Volvo vehicle lineup will begin to arrive in Canada this summer.
