Volvo adds significant enhancements to its Volvo Cars app

Volvo wants to make life easier for electric vehicle owners and is adding significant enhancements to its Volvo Cars app in order to do just that. Volvo announced earlier this month that it will be rolling out significant improvements to the Volvo Cars app that will allow future Volvo electric vehicle owners to find available charging stations and even pay for a charging session all through the app. The objective is to facilitate charging across the current and vast network of charging stations.

Using the Volvo Cars app, Volvo electric vehicle owners will be able to see which charging stations are around them, which stations are available for charging, and they can even pay for the charging session through the app. If you are a current electric vehicle owner, you know that it can be a bit frustrating right now to find a charging station and especially to pay for a session. There are a wide variety of charging networks in the all have a different apps and a different process. Volvo hopes to simplify the process by allowing them to access different charging networks through the Volvo cars app.

“Many of us are familiar with the frustration of having to navigate multiple apps and carrying multiple cards for different charging operators,” said Olivier Loedel, head of Electrification Ecosystem at Volvo Cars. “Our goal was to make life easier for our customers and remove one of the major barriers for customers to switch to an electric car. With the Volvo Cars app, we will create one digital charging platform.”

This impressive feature will add even more functionality to the Volvo Cars app which owners can currently use to check the status of their vehicle, start the engine remotely, or even check the status of the doors and windows.
