The 2024 Volvo EX90 is a new flagship electric SUV

Volvo has taken the wraps off of the all-new 2024 Volvo EX90, a brand-new three-row Volvo electric SUV that will join the Volvo EV lineup next year. A lot of range for the new 2024 Volvo EX90

We will start by looking at the impressive twin-motor electric powertrain. This new electric motor is actually two electric motors, one for each axle. Total output is rated at 517 hp with 671 pound-feet of torque to go along with it. The motor layout is powered by a 111-kWh battery that Volvo says will reach 600 km of range on the WLTP test cycle. Although official numbers aren't available just yet for Canada, we expect the new EX90 to deliver over 450 km of range. Moreover, Volvo says it will be possible to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in under three minutes.

The Volvo EX90 is built on a brand-new chassis, and it has extensive recycled materials including steel, aluminum, and plastics. The interior also makes use of bio-based materials which correspond to about 15% of the plastic used in the new EX90.

Stepping inside, you are greeted by a remarkably luxurious interior with impressive technology. The new EX90 has a 15-inch vertical centre display that houses the latest Google built-in infotainment system. This new technology offers advanced connectivity through the use of Google apps such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google play access.

Advanced safety for the new 2024 Volvo EX90

The new 2024 Volvo EX90 will also feature some pretty advanced safety technologies. These include driver monitoring which can bring the EX90 to a complete stop if the driver falls asleep and even notify emergency services. Moreover, the new EX90 makes extensive use of sensors such as cameras, radars, and lidar to detect potential dangers and intervene by first warning the driver and, if needed, taking control to prevent collisions. Volvo says the new EX90 will feature an invisible shield of safety monitoring the vehicle from a 360-degree perspective.
