Volvo has recently added an available air purification system to its 60 and 90 series vehicles in order to improve the health and comfort of everyone on board.

A shield against viruses

In order to keep you and your passengers healthy even when many viruses are floating around, many new Volvo vehicles can be equipped with the Advanced Air Cleaner, a system that purifies the air coming into the climate control system by a process of ionization. This makes it possible for 97% of the viruses present in the incoming air to be stopped before they reach you inside the vehicle. Furthermore, this system is capable of eliminating 95% of the airborne viruses already present inside by quickly circulating fresh air through the cabin, without trapping stale air inside.

The Advanced Air Cleaner available in many new Volvo models can be a great help to you and your passengers if you are part of the many people around the world affected by seasonal allergies or asthma. This is because the synthetic filter used in the air purification system is capable of catching 99.9% of the pollen found in the ambient air, thus preventing it from causing annoying symptoms that can distract you while you drive. This is true of the most common pollen forms, including those that come from grass, weeds, and trees.

A capsule of clean air

The interior of the Volvo vehicles equipped with the Advanced Air Cleaner can be seen as capsules of clean air since there are able to filter out up to 95% of the PM 2.5 particulates in the outside air. These particulates are a very common form of pollution that is found in higher concentrations in high-density areas such as city centers and traffic hotspots.
