A Look at the Improvements Made to the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge

The Volvo V60 has always been a one-of-a-kind vehicle. It deploys the performance of a sporty European sedan, while offering the space, volume and convenience of an SUV. It is a true driver’s car equipped with only the best in terms of mechanical components, chassis calibration and technological advancements.

The V60 Recharge throws efficiency into the mix, letting drivers use electrical power to travel on short and long distances without using fuel, but also providing them with extra performance.

Volvo has announced that the new and improved Recharge plug-in hybrid powertrain is now available in Canada in its V60 Recharge wagon. This means more power, increased efficiency and improved driveability to make the V60 better than ever.

More performance in the new 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge

Under the hood of the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge, you will find one of Volvo’s best powertrains. We’re talking about the T8 AWD plug-in hybrid unit that now includes a new long-range battery, which bumps up the energy from 11.6 kWh to 18.8 kWh.

There’s also a more powerful rear electric motor that delivers 143 hp. The outgoing unit was rated at 87 hp, thus representing an increase of 56 hp or 65%, making the Volvo V60 Recharge more agile on all types of roads and increasing all-wheel drive capability at low speeds, when towing, or when driving in difficult conditions.

In total, this gives the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge a combined rating of 455 hp.

The 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge gets longer electric range

The new long-range 18.8 kWh battery, which features a third layer of cells, also provides drivers with the possibility to pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin remotely via the Volvo Cars app, even when the car is not plugged in.

What’s more, the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge can now drive for 64 kilometres without using a single drop of fuel. This is a great improvement from the outgoing range, which was rated at 35 kilometres (83% increase).

The 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge will also get the handy one-pedal drive feature at a later date, which gives the driver the option to control acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal.

The 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge is now more powerful, more efficient and more intelligent than ever before. Come see it today in our showroom! You can also shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
